The Rhondas

We went to the Cedar Valley Settlers Celebration and Music Festival and we were pleasantly surprised!
Although the attempt at breaking the kazoo record fell short ( by a couple thousand people or so), everything else about the afternoon was great! The demonstrations, the story telling, the food, the information, the music.................yeah let's talk about the music!
We already met The Farewell Drifters a couple days ago. The Biscuit Burners were also there, but the best sound, we thought, was provided by The Rhondas. Although none of the band members are named Rhonda, I understand that Rhonda means 'Noise' in Welsh. That's interesting to me, being of Welsh decent, but I must add that the 'noise' was most pleasant!
The Rhondas are three young ladies from Akron, Ohio that are not only multiple instrumentalists, but sing a flawless, clear, tight harmony that really stole the afternoon's show! I don't think they have a recording available yet, so I want to be first in line when it comes out!
These ladies looked sharp and provided a well polished performance. The Rhondas are: Jen Maurer, Laurie Howard, and Sarah Benn. Check out their web site at www.myspace.com/therhondas. Better yet, find out where they are playing and catch them live!
Have a most excellent day!
Leave me some feedback, suggestions, comments......anything.
